INTEL: Aviva Investors launches tokenized share class of £22B Sterling Liquidity Fund on XRP Ledger
Aviva Investors has launched a tokenized share class of the Aviva Investors Sterling (GBP) Liquidity Fund on the XRP Ledger, according to an announcement from Ripple. The fund is the asset manager’s largest, with around £22 billion in assets under management.
The launch expands Aviva Investors’ tokenized fund offering. It follows the firm’s tokenized USD Liquidity Fund, which launched in July.
Same protections as the conventional fund
According to the announcement, investors in the tokenized share class receive the same protections as those in the conventional fund, which was first launched in 2002. The product is for professional investors only, and the announcement carries the warning that capital is at risk.
Ripple framed the launch as part of a shift toward 24/7 access and real-time settlement, describing the product as what that looks like in practice. The supplied material does not give details on minimum investment, fees, who acts as transfer agent or custodian, or when investors can first subscribe.
The facts here rest on Ripple’s announcement of the launch. No separate statement from Aviva Investors was included in the material reviewed.
