INTEL: France weighs 31.4% tax on crypto-to-stablecoin conversions from 2027
France’s parliament is weighing a 31.4% capital-gains tax on crypto converted into MiCA-regulated stablecoins, effective January 1, 2027, as part of its 2027 budget. Chainalysis France chief Francois Volpoet warned it could drive traders toward non-MiCA stablecoins and offshore venues; related amendments would require declaring self-custodied wallets holding €100k+ and add crypto to the exit tax. None is law yet — a National Assembly vote is expected October 20.
