INTEL: Bitwise raises bitcoin target to $1.6 million by 2036 from $1.3 million for 2035
Bitwise has raised its bitcoin price target to $1.6 million by 2036, up from the $1.3 million it had set for 2035. The asset manager projects average annual returns of 34.3% for bitcoin over the next decade.
Bitwise points to growing institutional demand and limited new supply of bitcoin as the main drivers of the higher forecast. Rising concerns over the debasement of fiat currencies are also cited as a factor behind the projection.
Matt Hougan announced the revision on X. “Bitcoin is better positioned today than at any point in its past,” he wrote. “We’re boosting our 10-year bitcoin target from $1.3m to $1.6m.”
What changed in the forecast
The new target moves the end date back a year, to 2036, and lifts the price level by $300,000 compared with the earlier $1.3 million figure for 2035. The 34.3% figure is an average annual return over the coming ten years, not a forecast for any single year.
The supplied material does not include Bitwise’s full methodology, the starting price used for the return calculation, or any interim price milestones. The target is a projection from the firm, not a market price or a prediction confirmed by any independent analysis.
