INTEL: IBM, Oracle, Intel, IonQ object to OKX-ICE share tokenization and total now 26

IBM, Oracle, Intel and IonQ have objected to OKX and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) tokenizing their shares under the SEC’s innovation exemption, bringing the number of objecting issuers to 26, according to crypto reporting on Oct. 27.

OKXICE is the joint venture between crypto exchange OKX and ICE, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange. It notified the SEC on Oct. 4 that it intends to offer onchain trading of tokenized US stocks on X Layer, and that issuers would have 30 days to opt out. The four companies are the latest to use that window to say no.

What the objections mean

The objections come from the listed companies themselves, which are declining to have their stock tokenized on the platform. The 26-company total is the count given in the latest update, which says four issuers were added to the earlier tally.

The reports supplied do not say how OKXICE or the SEC has responded to the objections, and they give no detail on what happens to shares whose issuers opt out. They also do not list the 22 earlier objectors.
